These User Terms (“Terms”) govern your use of Brilox, an offline river encyclopedia and learning tool for geography enthusiasts. By downloading or using Brilox, you agree to these Terms.
1. About Brilox
Brilox helps you explore river classifications, riparian landforms, hydrological features, side-by-side river comparisons, favorites, local observation notes, glossary terms, and recognition quizzes. The App is intended for educational and recreational reference.
2. No Account Required
You may use Brilox without registering an account. Features such as favorites, notes, study progress, and quiz scores are stored locally on your device.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Brilox only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the App except as permitted by applicable law
- Use Brilox content as a substitute for professional engineering, surveying, or safety advice
- Misrepresent Brilox materials as official navigation, rescue, or regulatory guidance
- Interfere with the normal operation of the App or related web pages
4. Educational Nature and Disclaimer
All river descriptions, hydrology parameters, landform explanations, quiz content, and related materials in Brilox are provided for general learning and interest reading only. They are not a substitute for:
- Outdoor navigation or route planning
- Swimming, wading, boating, or water-safety decisions
- Engineering, construction, flood-risk, or environmental compliance decisions
- Emergency response or professional scientific fieldwork instructions
Always follow local laws, posted warnings, and common-sense safety practices when outdoors near rivers or wetlands.
5. Intellectual Property
Brilox, including its name, interface design, curated educational content, and related materials, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial reference and learning.
6. User Content Stored Locally
Observation notes and similar personal entries you create remain under your control on your device. You are responsible for the content you write. Do not store unlawful or harmful material in notes.
7. User-Initiated Sharing
Brilox may allow you to share selected reference or comparison content through the iOS system sharing interface. You are responsible for selecting the recipient or service and for ensuring that your sharing is lawful and appropriate. Third-party services handle shared content under their own terms and privacy policies.
8. App Availability and Updates
We may update, improve, or discontinue features of Brilox over time. Offline content may be revised in future versions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any external web pages linked from the App.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Brilox may open external links such as the Privacy Policy and these User Terms. Those websites are provided for informational access and may require a network connection. We are not responsible for content hosted by unrelated third-party sites that you choose to visit beyond our published policy pages.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Brilox is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. River and landform information may be simplified for learning and may not reflect every real-world condition.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Brilox and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on App content, outdoor activity decisions, or inability to use the App.
