This Privacy Policy explains how Brilox (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) handles information when you use our offline reference tool for river types, riparian landforms, and hydrological features.
1. Overview
Brilox is designed as an offline learning and reference app. You can open and use Brilox without creating an account. We do not require sign-in, and we do not operate a user profile system inside the App.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
To support core features, Brilox may store certain content locally on your device, including:
- Favorites (rivers, landforms, and hydrology entries)
- Personal observation notes on river detail pages
- Study checklist progress and recently viewed items
- Quiz attempts and best scores
- App display preferences related to filters or sorting, if used
This information remains on your device and is used only to provide the features you actively use.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
The current version of Brilox does not collect:
- Account credentials or registration details
- Precise location history for tracking
- Contacts, microphone recordings, or camera media as a required part of the App
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking
4. Network Use
Core encyclopedia content, browsing, landforms, comparison, favorites, notes, glossary, and quizzes are intended to work offline. Opening Privacy Policy or User Terms links may use your network connection to load those web pages from our hosting domain.
When you visit an external legal or support page, the hosting provider may automatically process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and access time, as part of standard security and server-log operations. Brilox does not use these pages for advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Sharing of Information
Because Brilox stores feature data locally and does not require account registration, we do not sell personal information and do not share your local favorites, notes, or study progress with third parties as part of the App’s normal operation.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you remove individual content where the relevant feature provides that option, reset or erase the device, or uninstall Brilox. Uninstalling Brilox removes locally stored App data associated with that installation. Because Brilox does not operate an account or cloud profile system, there is no server-side Brilox account or profile to delete.
7. User-Initiated Sharing
Some screens may allow you to share reference or comparison content using the iOS system sharing interface. Brilox does not share this content automatically. Information leaves the App only when you choose a destination and confirm the sharing action. The selected third-party service handles shared content under its own terms and privacy practices.
8. Children’s Privacy
Brilox is a general educational reference tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for account creation because the App does not require accounts.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps appropriate for an offline utility app. Please protect your device with a passcode or biometric lock, since notes and favorites are stored locally.
10. Third-Party Links
Brilox may open external pages such as this Privacy Policy and the User Terms. Those pages are hosted separately from the offline App content. Your use of external websites may be subject to the hosting environment’s standard web logs.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when revisions are published. Continued use of Brilox after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
